Fat does NOT make you fat...
We are a society that believes buying things will make us a better version of ourselves. How often do you make a purchase because it may change your life for the better?
I know I’ve done it too many times to count.
Whether it’s a new supplement that I’m sure will help my gut feel better, or a new piece of equipment that is “guaranteed” to work, I fall prey to the idea that I just need to add ONE thing to make me a better and happier person.
What about taking things away? Do we ever consider that simplifying may make the difference?
Maybe Less is More???
There are so many areas in life that this could hold true, but today I challenge you to start with your diet. The obesity rates are staggering and only continue to go up. There is a huge industry devoted to losing weight, yet the problem keeps getting worse. We can order meals online, purchase 30 day systems made of shakes and bars, buy the most expensive organic packaged foods packaged to look healthy…
And yet, the problem of obesity continues to rise. It’s not because people aren’t trying.
I challenge you today to SIMPLIFY. Instead of buying something, I want you to get rid of three things:
1. Sugars
2. Grains (of any kind)
3. Vegetable Oils
What is the easiest way to do this? Eat foods that do not require labels and focus on protein, vegetables and healthy fats. Use natural fats like grass fed butter, ghee, olive oil and avocado oil. Don’t be afraid of fatty meats.
Fat does not make you fat...
They are nutritious and fill you up.
Start each meal with a protein, add a vegetable and make sure to include a healthy fat. If the protein is lean, cook your vegetables in ghee or natural oils.
Simplify by taking things away to better your health, instead of trying to buy it.
